Read this book to find out
- the super-ingenious methods devised by girls to attract good-looking stewards;
- how and why a plane headed to the sunny Egypt had to land in the frosty Siberia due to one passenger’s grouchy mood;
- how much stewards get tipped;
- why stewards make champagne onboard, and what recipes they use;

- in what circumstances a passenger aboard a plane may receive the stewards’ permission to sing a song.

All the stories are told by the stewards themselves, each story accompanied by a photo. All the stories in this book are true, and nothing is made up.

I like to think I'm a hardcore airline geek: things like why flight attendants on many Asian airlines require window shades to be up during taxi, takeoff and landing actively pique my curiosity. Even details like how many business class seats fit into the new Boeing 777-400ER - they don't bore me, I'm truly fascinated by all things aviation.

If you are anything like me, you will stay away from this book. The trite, one-paragraph chapters are infuriatingly asinine. One reviewer actually posted several of those chapters in his review - that's how short they are. I cracked it open as soon as the boarding doors were closed on my flight, and I finished it - annoyed - before the first beverage service. This would've been nothing more than a few magazine pages in real print.

Totally not worth it. There are funnier, more heartfelt, more palatable books in this category.

Great Book and funny stories! And it's my photo on the cover of the book, it's very pleasantly;)

Amazing book!I enjoyed this book because of the humor!

Many of the stories are charming and light-hearted!

Easy to read!
One of the best books I have read in past few years! After many years of flying, any flight attendant has so many stories and anecdotes that he could write a book. The most exciting and amazing stories told by stewards are collected in the book Real Life Stories Told by Stewards. For instance, here are a couple of stories from this book
**
You’ve heard about the generous Russian soul, right? Well, once we were flying from Tomsk to Moscow, and the business class section was empty. We let a group of rich Russians sit there, and they left each of us a €4,000 tip!
**
Usually I have more fun with the passengers. For example a regular flight, twenty minutes after takeoff a passenger calls me to complain that “something’s dripping” (that’s condensation, actually). “What is it?” he asks. “Oh, that’s just fuel,” I reply. “But don’t worry, it happens all the time.”

**
A short St. Petersburg to Moscow flight, only 20 minutes of level flight; both business and economy class are full to capacity. The chief purser, having served aperitifs to the business class passengers, enters the cockpit and asks “Would any of you guys like some tea or coffee?”
The copilot, young enough to be the chief purser’s small brother, says, “You know, I’m kind of hungry!”
The purser looks bewildered—what the hell, there’s only 10 minutes of level flight left before descent, and there are eight more passengers in business who want to have everything at once.
“What would you like? We’ve got chicken and spaghetti, meat with roast potatoes, and fish with wild rice.
“I’ll have fish, only could you please make it with potatoes, also black Earl Grey tea with lemon and honey—don’t forget to stir it—and something sweet.”
The purser couldn’t stand it anymore, so he said, “Would you also like me to massage some jam into your back?”
“Okay, I got it, no sweets, then.”
After many years of flying, any flight attendant has so many stories and anecdotes that he could write a book.
The MOST EXCITING AND AMAZING stories told by stewards are collected in THIS BOOK.
Here are some excerpts from the book

And here's a story of a female passenger's ingenious way of striking up a friendship with me

On a flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Rostov, I am serving cold beverages and offer a selection of juices--orange, tomato, or apple. "Do you have peach juice?" a young lady asks me. I tell her we don't, and once more list the ones we have. She asks me again--am I sure we have no peach juice, or is it just that I don't want to admit it? No, I say, we only have the three kinds of juice. She asks me to look for it in the galley--maybe I can find at least half a glass? So I make a show of going to the galley, then come back and tell her I've only found more orange juice. She says she'll go with me and look for herself, then. Okay, I say. So we go to the galley, where I have lots of fun watching her try to work out how to open the sheds (containers). After about ten minutes she did manage to get them open, but still couldn't find what she was looking for. Apparently satisfied, she went back to her seat and ordered five glasses of apple juice.
She also left me her phone number. It was her way of striking up a conversation. She thought I was from Rostov, because that's where we were headed, but I'm actually from Moscow.
***
Once we had a charter flight to Egypt with three people aboard--father, mother, and son. At first everything was all right, with the man leaving huge tips and drinking a lot of booze. On the way, he got so drunk his wife didn't know what to do with him.
When we landed in Egypt, the guy asked us where we were. Egypt, we told him. He got mad because apparently he wanted to be in Russia. He demanded we fly right back. We explained that it was impossible. He started shouting, asking us how much money would be enough to make us fly back. Even when the airport customs officials came onboard, he did not relent.
So, after a number of phone calls and money transfers, we headed back. The man slept through the whole flight. When we landed in Moscow, he woke up, looked around, and demanded to know why we were in Russia. We told him it was his idea. He shook his head, and said, "All right, so we don't want to go home, and we don't want to go to Egypt either... How about hunting in Irkutsk?"
So instead of Egypt, we flew to Irkutsk, Siberia, still dressed for the summer!
***
A flight from Moscow to Chambéry (a skiing resort in France). A group of people in business class are getting well oiled, as they say. After some heavy drinking, one of them gets up, walks to the front, and tries to explain something with gestures and inarticulate grunts. It turns out he wants to sing a song!
So we hand him the microphone, he introduces himself to the passengers, and starts wailing his way through "Purple Mist"! Then his wife gets up and asks if she can dance along! That was a fun flight. Actually, we're not supposed to allow things like that, but the guy was all but begging us, and we were feeling fine, so we let him.
