Just as a theme played by the Devil in a dream was turned into a sonata, in THE DEVIL'S SONATA day-to-day observations are turned into poems. In David Chorlton's seventh book of poetry, the desert climate of the Southwest is often the supporting theme in work that speaks for animals as well as a humans and the land itself.

I am a great fan of David Chorlton and his poetry, and am constantly amazed at the beautiful, lyrical and original images he evokes to explain even the most commonplace, which then, of course, is no longer "common place".Product details

The Devil Sonata eBook David Chorlton Reviews
David's carefully chosen words capture a world seen through the eyes of an observer, philosopher, artist, and author. His poem's are literary gems that can be read over and over again because of the imagery they evoke. My favorite is his poem about the rattlesnake coming out during the monsoons. In terse verse David leaves no doubt in your mind this snake was on a mission. Will be re-reading this collection of verse again tonight. Recommend reading in front of a warm fire, with a glass of fine wine, and lite background music - like "The Gael", theme from Last of the Mohicans movie. Mood will be just right for a moment or two of escapism as you read.
